SSB observes Diwali

The 16th BN SSB Ranighuli celebrated the festival of light with  Bhutanese authorities by organizing Diwali gifts programme held at Gelephu ( Bhutan) on Saturday in Chirang.

During the programme Lt. Col Tangbi(Liaison officer), SDO Gelephu Sonam Tshering , Major Karma Samten and Captain Jambey Tobden ,OC Gelephu gate were presented Diwali sweets and gifts . Bhutanese authorities were led by Sonam Tshering, SDO Civil Gelephu in favour of DC Sarphang. 

 Best wishes for Diwali were exchanged among the officers of both side of the international border with a hope of more beautiful and friendly relationship withbothh countries  in coming future.

The programmes was held with the association of  31st Bn SSB, 15th BN SSB and 16th BN SSB, three units under sector headquarter SSB Bongaigaon and represented by concerned representatives Mohilari, AC SHQ SSB Bongaigaon, Chetia AC, 31 Bn SSB , Pramod , AC/Tele 15 Bn SSB , Mobi Lourembam , AC 16th Bn and under the overall leadership of Sh. A.K.C Singh, Commandant 16th BN SSB Ranighuli.

As the same presentation was done in two previous years Amit Kumar , DIG, SSB Bongaigaon has made it possible this year as to shine like the Diya for both India and Bhutan as best friendly countries. Best wishes also conveyed  to all  Bhutanese Officers and officials from DG Fhq SSB New Delhi , IG Ftr Hqr SSB Guwahati. On the occasion A.K.C Singh, Commandant 16th Bn SSB expressed and hope for best cooperation among the forces and civil authorities  for the better work in the field of operations against insurgents, economic development  and overall development of poor and needy people residing along Border area.

KOKRAJHAR: The National Press Day-2019 was observed in four districts of Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) on Saturday. Kokrajhar Press Club and district administration jointly organised the National Press Day here at Basic Training Centre in Kokrajhar to mark the national press day. KOKRAJHAR: Indonesian paragliders have won first prizes in the first-ever Bodoland international Paragliding accuracy championship-2019. The event concluded on Thursday after four day programme at Dangdupur Hill in Kokrajhar district. 68 participants from 11 countries participated in the championship and displayed their paragliding skills. 22 foreign paragliders participanted in the event. KOKRAJHAR: Security forces apprehended three cadres of the Saoraigwra faction of the National Democratic Front of Boroland (NDFB-S) in the India-Bhutan border area in Chirang district on Monday evening. KOKRAJHAR: The first-ever Bodoland International accuracy Paragliding championship-2019 began from Monday at Dangdupur Hill, Kokrajhar district. 68 participants, including nine countries, are participating the championship. There are 22 foreign paragliders including four women in the international championship  are from China (5), Indonesia (6), Nepal (4), Korea (5), Japan (1) and Taiwan (1). Kokrajhar: A sea of humanity is seeing along the Samoka Irrigation sluice gate River bank to participate in the community fishing near Bishmuri in Kokrajhar district on Thursday. The community fishing saw like festivity since early morning. KOKRAJHAR: Tarang Swrang Club, Taranguri defeated Kokrajhar Veteran Sports Club (KVSC) 2-0 in the final match of 7th edition Jatin Islary memorial running shield football tournament-2019 held on Sunday at Kokrajhar.
