SSB observes Diwali

The 16th BN SSB Ranighuli celebrated the festival of light with  Bhutanese authorities by organizing Diwali gifts programme held at Gelephu ( Bhutan) on Saturday in Chirang.

During the programme Lt. Col Tangbi(Liaison officer), SDO Gelephu Sonam Tshering , Major Karma Samten and Captain Jambey Tobden ,OC Gelephu gate were presented Diwali sweets and gifts . Bhutanese authorities were led by Sonam Tshering, SDO Civil Gelephu in favour of DC Sarphang. 

 Best wishes for Diwali were exchanged among the officers of both side of the international border with a hope of more beautiful and friendly relationship withbothh countries  in coming future.

The programmes was held with the association of  31st Bn SSB, 15th BN SSB and 16th BN SSB, three units under sector headquarter SSB Bongaigaon and represented by concerned representatives Mohilari, AC SHQ SSB Bongaigaon, Chetia AC, 31 Bn SSB , Pramod , AC/Tele 15 Bn SSB , Mobi Lourembam , AC 16th Bn and under the overall leadership of Sh. A.K.C Singh, Commandant 16th BN SSB Ranighuli.

As the same presentation was done in two previous years Amit Kumar , DIG, SSB Bongaigaon has made it possible this year as to shine like the Diya for both India and Bhutan as best friendly countries. Best wishes also conveyed  to all  Bhutanese Officers and officials from DG Fhq SSB New Delhi , IG Ftr Hqr SSB Guwahati. On the occasion A.K.C Singh, Commandant 16th Bn SSB expressed and hope for best cooperation among the forces and civil authorities  for the better work in the field of operations against insurgents, economic development  and overall development of poor and needy people residing along Border area.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA), who has been investigating into massacre of Adivasi peoples at Santipur-Saralpara along Indo-Bhutan border, arrested three hard core cadres of the NDFB-S on Thursday from Saralpara are in Kokrajhar district.  They were identified as Armish Basumatary of East Jordanpur, Lothen Basumatary of Giribil village of Kokrajhar district and Gangaraj Basumatary of Birhangaon of Chirang district.  With these arrests of three cadres, the arrests stands at 61 and 45 of them have been charged sheeted till date . The arrested cadres have been sent for police custody for three days for investigation, said a senior official.  
One NDFB-Songbijit cadre was arrested at a joint operation launched by army and police at Takampur area under Kachugaon PS on Thursday in Kokrajhar district. The rebel was identified as Raju Mushahary alias Rajesh Mushahary, 20, of Takampur village of Gossage on subdivision. He was involved with extortion, kidnapping, recruiting of new cadres and supporting logistic to the militants outfit organization. A pistol, two ammunition and a hand grenade was recovered from him.

Two persons were killed and a eight-year-old boy received serious injured following thunderbolt hit early this morning in Kokrajhar district. According to a villager, the strong thunderstorms hit the men early this morning around 6.30am at Bishmuri area of Kokrajhar district leaving two persons died and a boy received serious injured. They were identified as Kontha Basumatary, 55, of Garlabari Bishmuri and Ashar Soren, 40, of Joypur. Border Security Force troops of Guwahati Frontier, deployed in Dhubri, in a joint operatio with Kokrajhar police recovered three country made guns, from Tipkai forest area today. A body identified as Jadav Kisku,45, was recovered from Pakriguri village under Salakati police outpost this morning in Kokrajhar. It was suspected that Kisku was severely beaten to death by unidentified miscreants late last night in the area,police said. Meanwhile, unknown miscreants torched a  hut, bound to open an election sub committee office at Kaliphukri last night under Kokrajhar PS.
