SSB observes Diwali

The 16th BN SSB Ranighuli celebrated the festival of light with  Bhutanese authorities by organizing Diwali gifts programme held at Gelephu ( Bhutan) on Saturday in Chirang.

During the programme Lt. Col Tangbi(Liaison officer), SDO Gelephu Sonam Tshering , Major Karma Samten and Captain Jambey Tobden ,OC Gelephu gate were presented Diwali sweets and gifts . Bhutanese authorities were led by Sonam Tshering, SDO Civil Gelephu in favour of DC Sarphang. 

 Best wishes for Diwali were exchanged among the officers of both side of the international border with a hope of more beautiful and friendly relationship withbothh countries  in coming future.

The programmes was held with the association of  31st Bn SSB, 15th BN SSB and 16th BN SSB, three units under sector headquarter SSB Bongaigaon and represented by concerned representatives Mohilari, AC SHQ SSB Bongaigaon, Chetia AC, 31 Bn SSB , Pramod , AC/Tele 15 Bn SSB , Mobi Lourembam , AC 16th Bn and under the overall leadership of Sh. A.K.C Singh, Commandant 16th BN SSB Ranighuli.

As the same presentation was done in two previous years Amit Kumar , DIG, SSB Bongaigaon has made it possible this year as to shine like the Diya for both India and Bhutan as best friendly countries. Best wishes also conveyed  to all  Bhutanese Officers and officials from DG Fhq SSB New Delhi , IG Ftr Hqr SSB Guwahati. On the occasion A.K.C Singh, Commandant 16th Bn SSB expressed and hope for best cooperation among the forces and civil authorities  for the better work in the field of operations against insurgents, economic development  and overall development of poor and needy people residing along Border area.

One cadre and two linkmen (over ground worker) of NDFB-S were apprehended in a joint operation of security forces from Titaguri area in Kokrajhar district on Thursday. The fourth Baukhungri festival was concluded with two-day colourful programme scheduled here at Harinaguri, 10km east of Kokrajhar town along the Baukhungri Hill in Kokrajhar district on Wednesday. The re-polling to the No.24 polling station at Kachugaon LP school(right side) under 28-Gosaigaon LAC in Kokrajhar district has not been scheduled yet,but expecting that it would be held after Bihu. The re-polling was necesiated following EVM anomaly on the final phase of assembly polls held on Monday.The re-polling is likely to be scheduled on April 17 or 18 after Bihu in the district,said an election officer in Kokrajhar.
