SSB observes Diwali

The 16th BN SSB Ranighuli celebrated the festival of light with  Bhutanese authorities by organizing Diwali gifts programme held at Gelephu ( Bhutan) on Saturday in Chirang.

During the programme Lt. Col Tangbi(Liaison officer), SDO Gelephu Sonam Tshering , Major Karma Samten and Captain Jambey Tobden ,OC Gelephu gate were presented Diwali sweets and gifts . Bhutanese authorities were led by Sonam Tshering, SDO Civil Gelephu in favour of DC Sarphang. 

 Best wishes for Diwali were exchanged among the officers of both side of the international border with a hope of more beautiful and friendly relationship withbothh countries  in coming future.

The programmes was held with the association of  31st Bn SSB, 15th BN SSB and 16th BN SSB, three units under sector headquarter SSB Bongaigaon and represented by concerned representatives Mohilari, AC SHQ SSB Bongaigaon, Chetia AC, 31 Bn SSB , Pramod , AC/Tele 15 Bn SSB , Mobi Lourembam , AC 16th Bn and under the overall leadership of Sh. A.K.C Singh, Commandant 16th BN SSB Ranighuli.

As the same presentation was done in two previous years Amit Kumar , DIG, SSB Bongaigaon has made it possible this year as to shine like the Diya for both India and Bhutan as best friendly countries. Best wishes also conveyed  to all  Bhutanese Officers and officials from DG Fhq SSB New Delhi , IG Ftr Hqr SSB Guwahati. On the occasion A.K.C Singh, Commandant 16th Bn SSB expressed and hope for best cooperation among the forces and civil authorities  for the better work in the field of operations against insurgents, economic development  and overall development of poor and needy people residing along Border area.

Witch-hunting: BA student killed

Member of a family accused of practicing black magic went missing since 22 April last at East Maligaon village in Kokrajhar district. The family member suspects foul play and filed a FIR at Kokrajhar police station on Thursday. Ashinta Basumatary alias Ola, a BA 4 semester student at UN Brahma College, Kajalgaon in Chirang went missing from his house since April 22 last. ABSU hails Sarhad institute

The All Bodo Students Union hails the Pune's Sarhad institute for taking up student's welfare activities means educational uplift for poor background students on free of cost.  Altogether 18 students age group of 4-15 years,16 from Saralpara of Kokrajhar and two from Bilasipara of Dhubri district left for Pune in June last year for  higher studies under Sarhad institute through the guidance of the students union. 2 NDFB-S linkmen arrested

Kokrajhar police arrested two NDFB-S linkmen from different locations in Kokfrajhar district. The arrested youths have been identified as Heremba Muchahary, 19 and Sudem Borgoyary, 26. Police have earlier on April 14 arrested four youths-Kwrwmdao Narzary, Surjay Basumatary, Khwmtha Brahma and Ratanjay Basumatary- all between 18-21 age for their link with the NDFB-S militant outfit.
