Bodoland Gold Cup kicks off
Dhupdhara Football Academy,Goalpara beat Namchi SAI,Sikkim 2-1 in the inaugural match of 17th Bodoland Martyrs Gold Cup football championship,2016 being kicked off from Sunday at KDSA ground in Kokrajhar district.
In the very beginning of the match,A Biswakarma of Namchi SAI netted first goal in 2 minutes against Dhupdhara. Dwisrai Boro of Dhupdhara reduced the goal scoring goal in 8 minutes and led the match 1-1 draw till first half. T Sangma of Dhupdhara again netted another goal in 83 minutes against Namchi SAI which led the team to win 2-1 in the inaugural match.
BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary inaugurated the championship in the presence of huge spectators,which was organised by Ex-BLT welfare society and Kokrajhar District Sports Association.
A total of 12 teams from across the country are participating. It is an initiative for the first time ever that the championship has been organised by organisers in the evening by flash lights in Kokrajhar,heart of BTAD administration.
Huge spectators from different parts of the Kokrajhar district and its adjoining areas throng the ground to see the football game. Spectators and viewers expressed happiness over the flash light game spirits in the district.
Doneswar Goyary,BTC executive member for sports and youth welfare department told that the championship is being organised by evening to give a leisure of sports for the viewers.It is an initiative from organisers to holding match by evening in its spirits through flash lights.
“Organisers conducted the matches by evening through flash lights to give sporting entertainment among sports lovers in Kokrajhar.Citizen and sport lovers are getting opportunity to see the football match by evening after working whole day in their life”,said Goyary.

Kokrajhar, May 2: A search operation that began yesterday evening concluded today with the recovery of three bodies from the Beki River near Manas National Park in Baksa district.
The three youths, identified as Deep Saha, Raj Saha, and Abhijit Karmakar, all from Barpeta Road, reportedly went missing after entering the river for a swim on Wednesday evening. Local sources informed that authorities, including the police, SDRF, and local residents, launched a search operation late Wednesday night.
