Global Hand Washing Day observed

Believers Church Bongaigaon Diocese observed the Global Hand Washing Day on Saturday at Mosalapara and Jitpur village in Kokrajhar District.


Sisters of Compassion is a part of Believers Church works in most difficult and in rural areas with the vision to help and bring social upbringing among the orphan, widows and children by giving health care and basic free tuition regardless of caste and beliefs.


So, to bringing health awareness among the villagers Sisters of Compassion of Believers Church Bongaigaon Diocese has been initiating to organize the Global Hand Washing Day programmme at Jitpur and Mosalapara villages.


Rev.Fr. Ajay Tulsiary, Diocesan Secretary of Bongaigaon Diocese, Subin Basumatary, the Village Head of Mosalapara, Lakhiram Murmu, Village Head of Jitpur,Merryam Murmu a trained Nurse, and Deacon Balendra Basumatary were prominent attendees on the occasion.


Tulsiary said, “Hands are the most important parts of our body but same time it is through our hands a harmful bacteria and dirt goes to our body along with food or drink and makes us sick. If we can habituate washing our hands properly we can safe our self and our family from suffering many possible disease and sickness.”


Lakhiram Murmu head of the Jitpur villages appreciated the Sisters of Compassion Team for taking afford and reaching them with the team to teach the importance washing Hands with Demonstration and Visual presentation in the LCD project.


On the occasion, 300 children were given one dose each Albendazole Tab 400 mg for worm and Vitamin A Supplement for health growth.
