Inferno gutts shops at Dimakuchi

A ravaging inferno gutted at least five shops near Dimakuchi police station of Udalguri district.  Fire broke out at about 11.30 pm on Friday night. The fire soon spread to a few shops located nearby. Fire-fighters had a tough time as they battled flames before finally succeeding in dousing the blaze. The reason for the blaze is suspected to be from a shop which stocked nearly 150 litres of  petrol. Property worth more than ten  lakhs were gutted in the flames. Reportedly the locals damaged  the fire-fighting vehicles of Khoirabari fire station which allegedly arrive late. Dimakuchi police have lodged an F.I.R against three unknown miscreants for damaging the vehicle .
