Golden Jubilee Celebration (Science Stream), B. Borooah College celebrated

The closing ceremony of the golden jubilee celebrations of the science stream of B. Borooah College was celebrated at the College premises on September 24. Tezpur University’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Mihir Kanti Chaudhuri was the chief guest for the program. Prof. Chaudhuri enlightened the audience with his enthralling speech in which he congratulated B. Borooah College for being awarded ‘A’ grade by NAAC and also urged the students and the faculties to inculcate the feeling of Patriotism and accountability amongst themselves. The general meeting was presided over by the Principal of the College Dr. Satyendra Nath Barman. Dr. Rekha Deka, ex Principal of B. Borooah College and Dr. Jagadindra Ray Choudhury, the Vice Principal of the College were amongst the other dignitaries present in the dias. The program was attended by retired faculty members of B. Borooah College. The general meeting was followed by a colourful cultural program.

In a tragic road accident that occurred in the Jalukbari area of Guwahati seven engineering students died at spot last night. According to reports, a group of 10 Assam Engineering College (AEC) students traveled in a scorpio car.
