NDFB-S cadre killed in Kokrajhar

A NDFB(S) hardcore cadre was killed at an encounter with Assam Police early this morning at Mainaopuri area under Kachugaon PS in Kokrajhar district and recovered arm and ammunition from his possession.

Speaking the reporters at SP office today in Kokrajhar, Dr LR Bishnoi,Additional DGP(BTAD) told that the cadre was killed during encounter with police by 4.20 am in the morning following Assam police ambushed since last night after getting input about presence of militant cadres in the area. The encounter lasted around 15 minutes where NDFB-S cadre found lying injured and immediately rushed to Kokrajhar RNB civil hospital, but doctors declared brought death and another cadre managed to escape in the deep jungle.

He was identified as Agun Basumatary of Banjubari village of Chirang district, was close associate of G Bidai, NDFB-S leader. He was in-charge of the logistic and rations supply of the militant outfit camp in Bhutan.

‘The gunning down of Agun Basumatary will further help us in choking supply line of Bidai.

Many intelligence inputs were received about his extortion, threatening, forcefully procuring rations, arms and other illegal activities. NDFB-S militant will set back after his death, claimed Bishnoi.

An AK 81 riffle,an AK magazine,11 live bullets,cash 21,000,21 empty cartridge,assorted medicines,recruitment notes and several other documents were recovered from him.
