BTAD secondary contractual teachers stages 2- hours silent dharna at Children Park (near DRDA office) in Kokrajhar on Monday demanded early solution of various issue and grievances, included regularizes of job, release of arrear salaries etc.
Hundreds of contractual teachers from four districts of BTAD join hands in the dharna with banner,placards demanding regularization of contractual teachers as per the Assam Secondary Eductaion(Service) rule,2003 engaged in high school and higher secondary schools and High Madrasa(both in govt and provincialised,cancellation of ensuing special TET in BTAD.
A memorandum was submitted to BTC chief through Deputy Commissioner,Kokrajhar. The teachers association has urged to stop ensuing special TET in BTAD area till all the contractual teachers of secondary education be regularized for greater interest of teachers as well as the students in the region,
Altogether 720 teachers in four districts of BTAD were selected by district selection board, BTC in high school, high Madrasa and secondary schools in 2011 on contractual basis as per Assam government notification no.PMA(S)31/2010.20dtd.10.06.2010 and BTC secretariat notification no.BTC EDN-68/2010/10dtd.25th Nov.2010 in respect of subjects as per laid down by notifications.
‘We have been serving regularly without any gap since 2011 in respective schools with satisfactory performances as teachers including co-curricular activities of students and evaluation processes in every year. We have been also performing various government duties in different times like census work, election, NRC, teachers training, etc which indicates equal status with the regular teachers. This particular reason is sufficient not to be deprived of regularization of our appointment’, said Abdul Baten Sheik, president of BTAD secondary contractual teachers association.
‘We have been serving teaching since appointed in the schools,but yet to get regularization’, said Rupban Basumatary,president, Kokrajhar district association.
