Gold for Kokrajhar Kickboxing players

Participants from Kickboxing Association of BTAD won four gold and two silver medals in the ongoing National Kickboxing championship being held at Rajib Gandhi Indoor Stadium, Kerala. The championship started from August 22 with four days programme scheduled. Gold winners are Amar Boro, Pratap Boro, Anima Narzary and Mayuri Deka. Prahalad Basumtary and Bikram Rabha won silvers.

Will Akhil get bail in Dudhnoi?

DUDHNOI: A day after getting Akhil Gogoi in their custody, the Dudhnoi police is producing the KMSS leader before a local court on Sunday. KMSS leaders and workers who are gathering in large number at the court premises hope that Gogoi would be able to procure bail in the afternoon. Amid a mammoth security arrangement the Dudhnoi police arrived at 9 in the evening from Dibrugarh in connection with a case where his activists allegedly wiped out the sign board of the Dindayal Upahyay College.   

 

We would stress for the social integration: Mohilary

BPF president Hagrama Mohilary, who is also BTC chief, thanked all citizens of the BTC region for supporting his party to win 12 seats in the election. After getting news of winning 12 seats in the result, Mohilary said that we had predicted that we would win all contesting seats on public’ blesses and today we have emerged to retain our party position.

‘We will participate in the BJP led alliance government in the state and working for the peoples’ welfare is the prime job in the coming days. We would stress for the social integration to meet healthy development and unity among all sections of community’, Mohilary added.

Flood: Ripun takes on Sarbananda

Congress leader Ripun Bora took on Sarbananda Sonowal a day after the Union minister Union minister claimed that the Centre has released funds for the flood affected people.

Talking to reporters in New Delhi on Friday, Bora said that the Rs 270 cr fund released recently was the outstanding amount.
 “Sonowal is not perhaps not aware of these and that’s why, he has been saying so,” said Bora.      
Bora took on the Narendra Modi  government saying that the Centre has done precious little to help the flood affected state.
