Security forces are fanning in Tinsukia district a day after suspected ULFA militants killed two people.

Army, police and para military forces have been carrying out an intensified operation to flush out the rebels who are believed to have been moving in the district to disrupt the Independence Day celebrations.

Security forces have been patrolling on the streets. Policemen deployed on the vital roads and bridges have intensified checking of the vehicles.

Two people were killed and seven others injured when suspected militants started indiscriminate firing on a group of people in the evening.
