New ANM training school at Tangla
Rihan Daimary,State Cabinet Minister PHE ,Food and Civil Supply layed foundation stone of Ramesh Ch Saharia ANM Training School at Tangla in presence of Kamali Basumatary ,MLA Panery LAC on Saturday .In this connection an open meeting was held in the conference hall of RC Saharia Teacher Training College ,Tangla.Mridula Saharia,the former MLA of Panery LAC presided over the meeting.Dr Harakanta Das Ex Medical Health Officer explained the objective of the meeting.Rihan Daimary the minister of PHE ,Food and Civil Supply attended the meeting as chief guest. Delivering the inagural speech Mridula Sahariah said "We feel elated that my husband late RC Sahariah dreamt of such institution in the area,and we are turning his dreams into reality. Expressing her gratitude to Minister Rihon Daimary and Panery MLA Kamali Basumatary she said they have represented their constituencies since 2001.She also expressed her gratitude to the media persons of the area.
Speaking on the ocassion Rihon Daimari said " RC Sahariah trust has taken up commendable works in the area fom B.ED College,Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology(D.M.L.T) courses and ANM training school are first of the kind in the district. Daimary also said that due to poverty our students can not pursue such courses. He further assured that he will discuss the matter with BTC Chief Hagrama Mahillary to help some students from WPT scheme to get financial help. He also stressed on need of Skill development programmes in the district.Referring to the flood scenario he said" I visited the Nalbari, Chirang,Udalguri district.Hundreds of acres of lands are inundated under water. Long term plannings are needed to tackle flood. Condemning in strict words the Kokrajhar incident. Daimary said"In the multi-ethnic multi-culture society of ours people needs to remain united to prevail peace and fraternity of brotherhood in the society."
Kamali Basumatary MLA Panery LAC said " ANM nursing has a wide career opportunities. Earlier students of these areas had to travel to far flung place to pursue such courses. I am thankful to RC Sahariah Trust for taking up such institute in Tangla. The MLA recalled her youthhood days when RC Sahariah was MLA of Panery LAC,and she visited the MLA at Dispur MLA Hostel. I am thankful to the people as I have been voted to power for the fourth consecutive term. We should abolish violence,Kokrajhar incident is condemning people were killed like anything else. Unemployment is the greatest issue I feel that needs to be solved said Basumatary.
"We are quite hopeful that BJP alliance government will bring development to the state". She also assured of projects of potable drinking water to the people of greater Tangla area. UDALGURI: The troops of 37th Bn, SSB, Mangaldoi, stationed at Border outpost,Bangrum thwarted a major attempt of timber smuggling. The troops seized one Tata Pickup van near Barmakhuli Bridge along the Indo-Bhutan border in Udalguri on Thursday morning.A consignment of fifty number of wooden Planks were recovered from the vehicle. The troops also apprehended two timber smugglers in this connection who have been identified as Santosh Basumatary (27) and Pradeep Daimari (40)both hailing from Hagramari village under Harisinga P.S in Udalguri. The seized items were later handed over to Forest Office Nonaikhuti, Udalguri for further legal action.

UDALGURI: In yet another road mishap,in Panery of Udalguri, 17 childrens were injured when the Mahindra Supro, van they were travelling in overturned at Christianbasti area under Panery PS in Udalguri at about 8.45 am on Monday morning.The injured childrens were immediately rushed to Tangla CHC with the help of locals. The childrens dressed as Bol Bom devotees were purportedly going to attend religious programmes.The attending doctors have stated that the childrens are out of danger. The locals have blamed rash driving to be the reason behind the accident.The driver of the vehicle sustained minor injuries.
UDALGURI: At least sixty people including women and childrens ,were admitted for a suspected case of food poisoning in Panery Subsidiary Health Centre in Panery of Udalguri district on Saturday. They are said to have consumed prasads(offerings) at Pub-Panery Bishnu Mandir as a part of monthly Naam-Prasangas on Friday night following which the devotees including a good number of women and children suffered from dizziness and vomiting in mid-night. UDALGURI: The scarcity of potable drinking water in various parts of Udalguri has raised many eyebrows particularly in the Udalguri LAC which is represented by State Public Health Engineering, Co-operation Minister,Rihon Daimari.
