No halt in rhino poaching

Poaching refuses die down in the flooded Kaziranga National Park where 3 rhinos were killed for horns during the last 24 hours. That too in the presence of forest minister Pramila Rani Brahma, who arrived in the national park on Wednesday afternoon.

Poachers have killed a full grown rhino on Thursday wee hours when a huge portion of the world heritage site is still reeling under flood.
The incident took place in the Bagori range where the forest guards spotted the carcass in the morning. Poachers were believed to have taken away the horn.
The incident took place a day after poachers killed a full grown female rhino along with her calf on Wednesday.
A section of the KNP officials has tried to blame it all on the flood. But the missing horn has proved, beyond doubt, that it was case of rhino poaching.

Guwahati: Police team probing the sub inspector recruitment scam arrested one of the main accused PK Dutta on Tuesday.  The retired DIG was arrested from along Indo-Nepal border early in the morning. Guwahati : In a high voltage drama Dibon Deka surrendered before police a week after he was let off in connection with the recent police recruitment scam.  According to information, the BJP leader surrendered before Pattacharkuchi police station to be immediately whisked away by a team of Guwahati police led by additional DGP GP Singh. 

BJP leader likely to surrender

Guwahati: Dibon Deka,  a BJP leader from Nalbari who is said to be one of the main accused in the police recruitment scam is likely to surrender before police.  According to sources,  Deka, who is on the run after he was let off by CID is learnt to have been talking to a few lawyers seeking legal help.   In his social media status Deka claimed the involvement of a circle of top police officers and feared threat on his life.   

Congress demands CM’s resignation

Guwahati: State Congress staged dharna in Dispur on Wednesday demanding Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal’s resignation alleging his involvement in the recent test for recruitment of police sub inspector. State party president Ripun Bora alleged involvement of Chief Minister’s Officer on Special Duty Ranjit Majumdar in the entire scam. Bora further dared the government to institute a judicial probe into it. On the other hand, AIUDF also demanded CBI probe into the entire scam where question papers meant for police sub inspector recruitment test went viral on social media on September 20.
