AASAA expells three of its activists

Pradip Nag President of central committee of All Adivasi Students' Association of Assam (AASAA) through a press release stated that it expelled three activists of AASAA namely Debeng Urang Publicity Secretary ,Narayan Nag Joint Secretary of central committee and Rustam Kujur Gen. Secretary of Dibrugarh district committee for unconstitutional and detrimental moves for a period of six months.The resolution for the same was taken on a central committee meeting on 23rd July last at INTUC hall Paltan Bazar,Guwahati premises.

The press release also labelled the expelled members as not to use organizational pads and stamps for any official and unofficial purpose in this period. The press release also alleged that the unofficial 7th central committee programme held recently at Jagiroad of Morigaon district were central Working President Stephen Lakra and General Secretary Deben Orang were present is bogus,as it was not even attended by President,Secretary of Central or any district committee.

UDALGURI: The Indo-Bhutan border villages in Udalguri district-region fraught with human-animal conflict and bloodshed and continue to witness brutality of wild jumbos.  In yet another incident, one Mardia Munda (25), a tea garden labour , was trampled to death by wild jumbos at Nalanadi under Dimakuchi PS in Udalguri district on Wednesday.Reportedly, the labour was on his way back home after plucking green leaves when he was confronted by wild jumbo trampling him to death. The local villagers witnessed his soul-less body at about 3 pm when the police and forest officials reached the spot. His body has been retrieved and sent for post-mortem.
