At-least seven villages under Dotma Revenue circle were submerged by flood waters following incesant rains since the last cuple of days from Saralbhanga River in Kokrajhar.
Villagers face severe hardships in the flood in the area which washed out houses and damaged huge properties.BTC executive member Rajib Brahma visited flood affected area,besides Dotma Circle Officer conducted survey for affected villages.
Several villages included Taktara,Balapara,Kwirwguri under Dotma Revenue Circle office were covered with flood waters over flow from Saralbhanga River in Kokrajhar on Wednesday, damaged several houses, properties. Villagers told that the flood was noticed by afternoon around 11 am and since then river water reached with strong force which uprooted tree,houses.The flood totally washed out with breakaway of Irrigation canals along road sides at Taktara village. BTC executive member Rajib Brahma visited the flood affected area to take stock about flood situation and promise for necessary steps for the cause.
Garga Mahan Das,Dotma circle officer told that the concern authority is conducting survey into flood affected area. As per step from the from concern department necessary arrangements would be provided to the affected peoples. ot meet within August 15 next.Create small states across the council including Bodoland,other wise situation would be critical”,he added.
