Six arrested for kidnap bid

Chirang police arrested six persons for attempt to kidnap a girl in the district on Sunday evening.

Police said Md Nijam Ali (28) of Baikhungaon, Md Taibor Rahman (29) of Satipur, Hanif Ali(25) of Baikhungaon, Md Najrul Sk(36) of Satipur, Md Zakir Hussain(28) of Satipur and Saja Ali(25) of Satipur- all under Dhaligaon police station in Chirang district were arrested last evening for allegedly trying to kidnap a Adivasi girl from Deosri area under Runikhata police station.

Police said the youths allegedly tried to kidnap the girl by pulling her inside a vehicle (AS -01 AU/8258). The girl raise alarm by shouting following which the local caught the six accused and later handed over to the police.

A case was registered againt them at Runikhata police station. They were produced in Court at Kajalgaon in Chirang sent to jail today
