Flood situation worsen in Kaziranga Nation Park
Flood situation in Kaziranga National Park, the only World heritage Site in Assam, is again taking a disastrous form. With the rise of water level in the river Brahmaputra, new areas have come under the threat of flood. Nearly 70% area under Burapahar range of KNP is being water logged. On the other hand areas like Kohora and Agaratali is also being flooded. If the water level continues to rise at such a rapid speed the situation is most likely to deteriorate very soon. The situation may become more aggravated if the rainfall increases in the days to come.
In another incident a rhino died due to natural cause in Kohora range of KNP. In this year nearly 65 rhinos have died due to natural causes.

Now a days the ATM service in Golaghat has no longer been a 24 hour utility service. Most of the ATMs in Golaghat are either being closed or runs on a first come first serve basis. In the present time people are running from pillar to post for small denomination coins and currency notes as they come handy in day to day life for various activities. Moreover the RBI’s recent abandonment of 25 paisa coins has aggravated the already existing scarcity of small denomination currency units. So in a time of such a crisis the Golaghat unit of Assam Chamber of Commerce today donated coins and currency notes of Re.1, Rs.2, Rs. 5, Rs.10 etc of about Rs. 1,30,000/- to the State Bank of India, Golaghat Branch. This step on the part of Chamber of Commerce comes as a great relief to general public when small denomination coins and currency notes are scarce on Wednesday.
