Plantation drive at Bodoland Buddhist Park

A plantation drive was carried out on Tuesday at Bodoland Buddhist Park along Gaurang River bank involving villager and social activists.

BTC Secretary Rahila Brahma kick off to start the plantation programme with planting a sapling on the river bank,which was organised by Bodoland Buddhist Park management committee to make green and beautification of Kokrajhar.

Around 300 plants were planted on the day along River bank side to protect as well beautification of Gaurang River side in Kokrajhar.

Brahma said that it was an initiative to make green nature and beautification in the region.

Anjali Bodosa,organiser of the programme told that the plantation programme was carried out to plant saplings through which natural beautification would be restored.

A crude bomb was exploded inside a house of Prof. Abdul Kalek Fakir late last night at Rupsigaon under Tulsibil police outpost in Kokrajhar district. According to Fakir, a professor by his profession at Jomduar College in Gossaigaon that a huge sound was arisen inside house complex following explosion late last night which took place around 11.40 pm, but no one was injured. Fakir lodged an FIR with police in this regard. Police rushed the spot and collected samples from the spot, which was suspected of crude bomb that was planted by unidentified miscreants. ‘Investigation is on into incident’, said a senior police officer.
