Awareness programme organised on World population
An awareness programme on World Population was organised at Salbari LP school under Balajan block primary health centre in Kokrajhar district on Saturday.
Hundreds of citizen and villagers from Salbari village participated in the progamme,was organised by Balajan Block Primary Health Centre to create awareness about population growth and its impact among society.
BTC executive members Rajib Brahma,Doneswar Goyary, Uttam Brahma, DPM Kokrajhar , Mandeep Singh,co-ordinator Kokrjhar UNICEF among others were present on the occasion.
Dr. N Boro while addressing the programme said that it was an advantage awareness’ progamme on world population to bringing awareness among the common masses in remote areas. He said that India is second largest population in the world,of which China is first, but if India continue its birth rate, population of India would be crossed China in days to coming. Boro asserted that Indias’ growth rate has been becoming higher due to early marriage, lack of family planning, lack of education, low exposure of wife. He also urged citizens decrease high rate growth of population and proceed for family planning in proper manner.

Kokrajhar: The first ever edition of the All Assam Prize Money Non-Ranking Badminton Championship-2021 concluded on Tuesday after a two-day programme was scheduled to be held at the indoor stadium of the Kokrajhar District Sports Association (KDSA) in Kokrajhar district.
All together 95 teams of across the state participated in a championship that saw a healthy sporting environment in the region which was organised by Kokrajhar District Badminton Association (KDBA).
In the championship, Bijoy Brahma and Debo Bordoloi won the men's doubles open while Priyam Bhuyan and Indra Das; and Nikhil Mushahary and Bastav Neog triumphed the 75 plus and 95 plus categories respectively....
At least three persons died and several others received injuries due to the lightning struck at Anthaibari under Bengtol police outpost in Chirang district on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the source, three persons have died and several other people from Anthaibari area received serious injuries due to heavy lightning this afternoon while people were watching a football match at Anthaibari playground.
The injured persons were immediately rushed to the Bengtol missionary hospital where three persons were declared brought dead.
The deceased were identified as Dilip Mushahary (40), Rayanti Basumatary (40) and Mangkeswar Basumatary (45).
