Rabha Divas observed in Kokrajhar

The Bishnu Rabha Divas was observed in a befitting manner at Basic Training Centre (BTC) with various colourful programmes in Kokrajhar along with rest of the state.

It was organized jointly by the Kokrajhar district administration and district cultural department, various cultural programme from different communities, rendition of his songs, recitations of his poetry and other compositions by various artistes were showcase during the programme.

Madhav Prasad Sarma,Deputy Commissioner,Kokrajhar attending the programme as chief guest paid rich floral tribute to Rabha.

Sarma, in his speech said that Rabha was versatile on various field in his life, who had contributed a lot towards social uplift, political, art & culture in Assam.

‘We today recalled Rabha on his death anniversary which was being observed in Kokrajhar along with rest of the state’, he said adding that citizens should keep alive ideology and philosophy of Rabha among society.

Kanjana Brahma, Cultural Officer, Kokrajhar said that the district also observed the day with befitting manner. She said that the day was emphasized to recall contribution and ideology of Rabha,who dedicated towards social integration among different communities in the state of Assam.

Nabajyoti Sarma, Professor of Bodoland University, Benudhar Goyary, Niranjan Chakraborty, noted cultural activists,Monalisa Sarma, journalist were prominent attendees on the occasion.
