Two dies in road mishap

Two persons succumbed to hospital and four others received injuries at a road mishap at Titaguri along the JD Road this evening in Kokrajhar district.

According to police,a Tata Sumo vehicle bound for Haltugaon from Kokrajhar town on over speeding hit several motorbikes,alto car and commutters where two succumbed to hospital and four others received serious injuries in the incident. The Sumo vehicle bearing Resgistration No.AS16A-8661.The death were identified as Nijwm Brahma,a staff of NRL oil depot and Binode Yadav.The injures were imediately rushed to MRM Hospital and RNB civil Hospital,were identified as Kairul Islam,Nirmal Debnath,Streeling Basumatary and Paresh Chandra Barman.

Police officer said that the incident took place around 5 pm this evening where two died and four others received injured.Investigation is on into incident,police officer added.

‘A vehcile coming from Kokrajhar bound for Haltugaon on over speeding hit several motorbikes and cars on the road along JD Road at Titaguri near Naga garage this evening.The vehicle strongly hit him and received injury,said Kairul who received injury.

Lightning kills 3 in Chirang

At least three persons died and several others received injuries due to the lightning struck at Anthaibari under Bengtol police outpost in Chirang district on Wednesday afternoon. According to the source, three persons have died and several other people from Anthaibari area received serious injuries due to heavy lightning this afternoon while people were watching a football match at Anthaibari playground. Police launched crackdown on NLFB
