Kokrajhar,haert of BTAD administration is all set for counting of Assembly polls for three constituencies in the district and Indo-Bhutan border areas have been kept closed contact with necessary security vigil arrangements for the day. Altogether 23 candidates are in fray for three constituencies i.e-30-Kokrajhar east, 29-Kokrajhra west and 28-Gossaigaon and counting of votes would held at Basic Training Centre for Kokrajhar east LAC,Gossaigaon sub-divisional headquarters for Kokrajhar west and Gossaigaon LACs in the district.
Madhav Prasad Sarma, Kokrajhar Deputy Commssioner(DC) and District Election Officer told that all kinds of preparations to hold the counting have so far completed including security deployment in the district. He said that election Observers for the counting have reported and 144 CrPC has also clamped in the district to meet healthy situation in the district,besides Indo-Bhutan border area also kept on closed observation involving SSB jawans from India part and Bhutan government will keep close guard toward Bhutan side. Over 150 counting personnel had already been appointed and imparted training as per the guideline of the ECI and adequate security arrangements, included three tier security deployment have been made to thwart any untoward incidents during the counting day. The strong room would be opened at 7 am tomorrow and firstly, postal ballots will be takled for counting which will begin at 8 am,later the EVM would be taken by 8.30 am and expected all counting functions would be completed by 12.30 pm to 1pm in the district, Sarma said.
