Assam Madhyamik Sikshak and Karmachari Sanstha threatens of agitation programme if their demands which included implement of 6th pay commission, teachers’ appointment, and release of arrears are not meet in earliest manner.
The Sanstha in its 49th biennial conference which concluded today at Kokrajhar District Sports Association (KDSA) stadium in Kokrajhar after three days colourful programme, adopted a 40-points resolutions which will be submitted before the new government in Assam .
Over 800 delegate and members from 33 district committees of the sanstha are participated the conference where issues related to the association was discussed thoroughly and resolutions adopted.
Prasanta Datta, president of the Sanstha stated that the state government should implement the sixth pay commission in proper manner and also appoints teachers and release the arrears. He rued over the poor salary of the teachers in Assam compared to the Central saying that there is a huge difference between Central and state teachers in its actual figures. He said the state government should take necessary steps to make suitable facilities to the sikshak and karmachari communities in the state.
Rabin Saikia, General Secretary of the Sanstha blames state government of playing tactics in implementing the sixth pay commission saying that the teachers have to face hardship due to negligence by the govt.
On the concluding day, an open session was held which was attended among others by MLA of Kokrajhar East LAC, Director of secondary education Assam Babulal Sarma, Secretary of Madhymik Siksha Parishad, Asom Kamal Jyoti Gogoi, among others.
