Dr Arati Barua from Assam who is an Associate Professor, Philosophy, Deshbandhu College, University of Delhi & the Founder Director of Indian division of the Schopenhauer Society (IDSS) under the main International society in Germany, was conferred with the prestigious national award “ Bharat Excellence 2016” by FFI at New Delhi on April 25.
Dr. Barua has been conferred with the National award of Bharat Excellence 2016 in recognition to show that she is a great achiever who has done something extra – ordinary for her country and countrymen and has attained greater excellence in his/her field of activity and enhanced the image of India. Earlier Dr Barua was awarded with “Bharat Jyoti Award 2015” and “Best Citizens of India 2015” by different institutions .
This award includes an award and a GOLD MEDAL with (Certificate of Excellence) (Certificate of Felicitation) for the year 2016 and was presented by Honorable Choudhary Randhir Singh, former Governor of Sikkim organized by Friendship Forum (FFI) in a NationalConference on “ECONOMIC GROWTH & NATIONAL UNITY” in NEW DELHI on 25thAPRIL 2016 which was attended by Educationists, Intellectuals and Industrialists and so on.
The awards which carried a Citation, Gold Medal and a Certificate of Excellence, was presented by Shri Chaudhury Randhir Singh, Former Governor of Sikkim, at a NationalSeminar entitled ‘Economic Growth & National Unity’.
The ‘Bharat Excellence Award’ recognizes the various achievements, excellence in business and outstanding contribution made by individuals and institutions towards Society and National Welfare. The awards are a testimony towards the proactive attitude, innovation, contribution and global perspective reflected by the recipient towards business and economy.
The ‘Bharat Excellence Awards’ is instituted by the Friendship Forum of India, a New Delhi based social & cultural organization focused on forging greater unity, integrity and collaboration among Indians across the globe. About 40 individuals from around the country were presented the Bharat Excellence Award for their contribution in education, social work, medicine, arts, science and entrepreneurship.

Properties worth Rs 1 crore has been reduced to ashes when a major fire broke out in Nalbari town on Monday. The local businessman injured in the shocking shoot out in Dhubri is battling for life on Monday. The Delhi government has agreed to set up a statute of Chaolung Sukapha in the national capital. The assurance came from Delhi Chief minister Sheila Dixit who talked to her Assam counterpart Tarun Gogoi. Before that Gogoi in a letter requested Dixit to consider the proposal to set up the first Ahom king in the national capital. The initiative assumes significance after the government invited unprecedented criticism for not giving due status to the Ahom king.
Local residents in Goalpara district beat him a suspected militant to death on Saturday night. Three motorcycles suspected to have been used by the militants were recovered from the area.One bomb is suspected to be concealed in the MLA's house and a bomb disposal squad of the police reached the place, they added. Another IED went off at Jaleshwar High School. The other explosions in Goalpara district took place at Moriakichi Bazar, Gaurnagar, Porahita and Jamadar Bazar areas. A series of low intensity blasts has forced the security forces to fan in lower Assam on Sunday. Suspected ULFA militants on Saturday night set off eight IED blasts in a space of 90 minutes targeting the house of an AIDUF MLA and crowded markets in Goalpara and Dhubri districts. There, is, however, no report of casualty.ULFA, along with some other insurgents group, gave a call for boycotting the Republic Day celebrations. The first blast took place inside the residential complex of Moinuddin Ahmed, MLA of All India Democratic United Front, at Jaleshwar in Goalpara district.
Over 20 people have been injured when a passenger bus slipped into deep gorge in near Guwahati on Saturday.The accident took place at around 2-30 in the afternoon when the passenger bus was on its way to Kamakhya and suddenly it lost control and fell on a gorge where several people were rescued by police and local residents.
