One killed by wild jumbo in Panery

A wild loner jumbo created havoc and ransacked number of houses in Barmukoli village under Panery PS of Udalguri on Sunday morning. The wild jumbo also lashed one Benzamin Tirkey (45) of the same village resulting in death of the person. Police have sent his body for post-mortem to Udalguri Civil Hospital. Lately, a herd of wild jumbos have strayed in search of food and created havoc in the district.

The wild jumbo also ransacked houses of Ratiram Boro, Ganesh Boro, Benarus Kasuwa. The local villagers have alleged that though the forest officials have been informed they didn't take stock of the situation. A herd of wild jumbos is straying in the area creating panic among villagers.
