The 157th birth anniversary of Gurudev Kalicharan Brahma was observed on Monday at Gurudham, Kazigaon in Kokrajhar district, was organized by Gurudev Kalicharan Brahma Trust (GKBT).
As part of the programme scheduled,Rabi Basumatary,president of All Brahma Dharma Committee paid floral tribute to Guridev Kalicharan Brahma in the morning followed by Sachindra Nath Brahma, retiredteacher, Samar Kumar Brahma, Amarendra Brahma and devotees.
A seminar on the life activities of Gurudev Kalicharan Brahma was organized to mark the observation with Rakeswar Brahma, Mazbat MLA and chairman of the trust in the chair.
Padmashri (Dr) Kameswar Brahma, president of Bodo sahitya sabha graced the occasion as chief guest.
Brahma, in his addressed said that Gurudev Kalicharan contributed his whole life towards building of social uplift of Bodo and other down trodden communities in the early 20th century in the Western Assam as well undivided the then Goalpara district. He had advocated good human living and development of human resources among society,so he had adopted Brahma dharma from Shri Shri Paramhangsa Gurudev and guided the Brahma dharma among society in the region.
Ajit Boro, secretary of the trust said that Gurudev Kalicharan dedicated lots towards development and social change among Bodo and other down trodden communities in the western Assam. He had been stressed to gain education and social integration through adopting Brahma dharma.
Janil Kumar Brahma, sahitya academy awarded, Manik Kumar Brahma, principal Gurudev Kalicharan Academy,Dotma, Ajit Kumar Brahma, retired ADC, Kokrajhar,Bathendra Nath Brahma, social worker, Jyotindra Nath Brahma, BTC MCLA were prominent speakers on the occasion.
A souvenir Gurudevni Bwswn was also unveiled on the occasion, besides performing a Jagyahuti.
Art completion among school children, delegate session was also organized to mark the celebration.
Delegates from different districts of the state participated the occasion and worshiped to the Gurudev.
