144 CrPC promulgated

The Kokrajhar and Chirang district magistrates promulgated today an order under Section 144 CrPC prohibiting movement of any persons, materials, vehicular traffic of any description from either side of the boder across the Indo- Bhutan falling under Kokrajhar and Chirang district from 6PM of April 10 to 6AM of April 12. This order has been imposed after considering likelihood of subversive activities to be carried by the anti social elements in the district on the day of poll, i.e on April 11, 2016. However, the vehicles of the District Administration, Magistrates, Police, Army and Paramilitary forces are exempted from the purview of this prohibitory order. District magistrates both from Kokrajhar and Chirang have also said that the district administration have fully prepared to conduct the poll free and fair in the districts.

Footballer Apurna Narzary to receive Emerging Player award in Bodoland Territorial Region

Apurna Narzary, an international women's football player, has been nominated for the Emerging Player award for 2022-23 by the Sports & Youth Welfare department of the government of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). Narzary has represented India in several international events and is the daughter of Biswajit Narzary of Khagrabari village in Kokrajhar district. The award will be presented to her during the Baokhungri festival celebration at Baokhungri Hill site near Harinaguri in Kokrajhar. The ongoing High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) final examinations in the state of Assam have been marred by a serious concern over the leakage of question papers. Mountaineering Training Kicks Off in Kokrajhar

A five-day mountaineering training program, organized by the Directorate of Sports & Youth Welfare department of the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) government, begins on Thursday at the Dangdupur Hills Site in Kokrajhar. BTR Peace Accord Day celebrated

On Friday, the government of the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) observed the third BTR Peace Accord Day as "Day of Peace" on Friday.  A massive bike peace rally was held in Kokrajhar, the "City of Peace." 3 arrested under arms act

Three individuals, including former MLA and senior BPF (Bodoland People's Front) leader Hitesh Basumatary, were arrested by police in Baksa district after a search operation at Basumatary's residential complex resulted in the recovery of a large cache of illegal arms and ammunition. The recovered items included an AK rifle, an M-16 rifle, and 135 rounds of live ammunition. ISPL 2022: Bodoland lifts trophy

Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) team won the trophy defeating Lai Autonomous Council (LADC) of Mizoram 1-0 in the final match of inter sixth schedule premier league -2022 being held at SAI SAG center,Kathalguri Titaguri in Kokrajhar district. Sonam Basumatary of Bodoland Territorial Region scored the lone goal against Lai Autonomous in 51 minutes of the second half. This led his team to win the tournament 1-0.
