3 NDFB-S cadres arrested

The National Investigation Agency (NIA), who has been investigating into massacre of Adivasi peoples at Santipur-Saralpara along Indo-Bhutan border, arrested three hard core cadres of the NDFB-S on Thursday from Saralpara are in Kokrajhar district. 

They were identified as Armish Basumatary of East Jordanpur, Lothen Basumatary of Giribil village of Kokrajhar district and Gangaraj Basumatary of Birhangaon of Chirang district. 

With these arrests of three cadres, the arrests stands at 61 and 45 of them have been charged sheeted till date . The arrested cadres have been sent for police custody for three days for investigation, said a senior official.

Thunderstorm kills one

A person was died and another received serious injury following heavy thunderstorm hit at two separate incidents in Kokrajhar district on Wednesday. NDFB-S cadre arrested

Security forces belonging to police and army, in a joint operation arrested a cadre of National Democratic Front of Boroland-Songbijit faction from Mainaguri area on Tuesday under Kachugaon PS in Kokrajhar district. The cadre was identified as Bipul Mushahary alias Bigrai Mushahary, 31, of Mohendrapur, was trained in 2011. He was involved with extortion, money collection, kidnapping, arms peddling and providing logistic supports to banned terrorist organizations. NSLA cadre arrested

Security forces belonging to police and army, in a joint operation arrested a cadre of National Santhali Liberation Army (NSLA) from Kashiabari area in Kokrajhar district on Monday. The cadre was identified as Pranjit Tudu (38) of Kashiabari under Gossaigaon sub-division of Kokrajhar district, was involved with money collection, extortion, arms peddling in the area. Operation was carried out by a joint team of Kokrajhar and Chirang police, four jehadi elements were apprehended from three different locations in Kokrajhar district on Sunday. 88% repolling in Gossaigaon

The re-polling at 24-polling station at Kachugaon ME school under 28-Gossaigaon LAC was recorded of 88.15% poll and passed off peaceful, held on Sunday in tight security in Kokrajhar. The re-polling was necessitated following technical problem of EVMs on April 11 last. Voters from the polling booth come out and queue since early morning for re-polling and cast their votes. A self-styled commander of Adivasi Dragon Fighters (ADF) was arrested by security forces from Kachugaon area on Sunday morning at a police operation.
