Drug peddlers held in Merapani

Working on a secret tip-off, the Assam Police and 142 Bn of C.R.P.F. posted at Merapani, on 9th July apprehended two drug peddlers from Negheribill area near Assam-Nagaland border, Merapani, in Golaghat district. The two accused Bogai Gogoi and Kolia Gogoi were caught red handed by the security personals when they were trying to smuggle a large quantity of Relifan tablets to Nagaland.

It is a matter of great concern that in recent years drug peddling has increased in the Assam-Nagalnd border near Merapani at an alarming rate. The arrest of these two drug dealers have dealt a severe blow to the drug mafias operating in the region.
