Laikhuta laid for Bishuwa Utsav
Mukut Barman, noted social worker of Kokrajhar laid Laikhuta at Rashmela ground to celebrate the ‘Bishuwa Utsav’ with two-day colourful programme scheduled beginning from April 13 next in Kokrajhar.
The utsav has been organising by Bishuwa Utsav Celebration committee to mark the cultural traditions of Koch Rajbongshi community in the world.The Bishuwa is a festival of the community that keep alive of cultural traditions among society said Lakhindra Roy,president of the celebration committee.
Barman,in his speech expressed his hopeful that the utsav would be celebrated in a befitting manner where cultural troupes would showcase their cultural presentation.
Sanjit Singha,secretary,Deepunjay Roy,joint secretary of the celebration committee,noted social worker Buddeswar Roy were among others present on the day.

At least nine women were apprehended by female constable of SSB of 16th battalion(Bn) for involved in the smuggling who were trying to evade the international border,besides seized illicit Bhutanese liquor of Rs 19,665 from Dadgiri and Dholkola in Chirang district on Monday.
