Two killed in thunderbolt hit in Kokrajhar

Two persons were killed and a eight-year-old boy received serious injured following thunderbolt hit early this morning in Kokrajhar district.

According to a villager, the strong thunderstorms hit the men early this morning around 6.30am at Bishmuri area of Kokrajhar district leaving two persons died and a boy received serious injured. They were identified as Kontha Basumatary, 55, of Garlabari Bishmuri and Ashar Soren, 40, of Joypur. The boy who received injured in the incident Ishahan Tudu,was rushed to Kokrajhar RNB civil hospital.

Member of a family accused of practicing black magic went missing since 22 April last at East Maligaon village in Kokrajhar district. The family member suspects foul play and filed a FIR at Kokrajhar police station on Thursday. Kokrajhar police arrested two NDFB-S linkmen from different locations in Kokfrajhar district. The arrested youths have been identified as Heremba Muchahary, 19 and Sudem Borgoyary, 26.
