SMS poll management in Chirang

In connection with the operation of SMS during poll day in 31-Sidli (ST) LAC, the Chirang election district convened a meeting involving all Zonal and Sector Officers and Master trainers at District Centre, Kajalgaon in Chirang district on Monday, was chaired by the Chirang DEO and Returing Officer Rupak Kumar Mazumder.

Mazumder briefed on the SMS based poll management system for getting updates on pre-poll day and poll day. Master Trainer Kishore Mandal taught the officers present on how to register the mobile numbers and to send two hourly reports to the CEO through SMS from their respective areas. 

Earlier, Mazumder  reviewed the  preparedness at  polling station areas through the Zonal and Sector Officers of those areas. He has asked all the zonal and sector officers to assess the availability of basic facilities like drinking water facilities, sanitation, electricity and condition of polling stations along with the centres where the polling parties shall be kept at night  prior to sending to their respective polling stations. Further, he instructed the officers to keep informing him about any election related activities and happenings at their level during poll day at 03664-242316, 03664-243663 or at Toll free No. 18003453748 which were set up in the office of the DEO at Kajalgaon. The meeting was also discussed about the transport plan for transportation of the polling personnel. He also informed about the arrangement of two Model Polling Stations at Kashikotra HS School and Basugaon HS school where aged electors will be  received and felicitated, blind, infirm, pregnant women and illing persons will be helped by the  officials present and  the medical teams.
