30 contestants in four BTAD constituencies

Three nomination papers have found rejected one from 29-Kokrajhar west and two from 28-Gossaigaon LAC and 30 nominations were found valid from four constituencies of Kokrajhar and Chirang district during the scrutinised on Thursday.

AIUDF substitute candidate for 29-Kokrajhar LAC Guneswar Basumatary’s nomination paper was found reject. Two Independent candidates’ nomination papers of Pandhu Murmu and Somai Murmu for 28-Gossaigaon were rejected during the scrutinised.

The scrutiny process was witnessed by the general observer,returning officer,Kokrajhar and all contesting candidates,besides their agents and proposers and scrutiny and validity has been checked in terms of election laws.In 30-Kokrajhar aest LAC all six nomination papers received by Returning Officer and District Election Officer have found valid are included Pramila Rani Brahma(BPF),Manu Borgoyary(AIUDF),Pratibha Brahma(UPP),Basanta Medhi(Independent),Ajay Kumar Narzary(Independent) and Rajesh Narzary(Independent).

In 29-Kokrajhar west LAC, the 10 candidates nomination out of 11 nomination papers are found valid are Rabiram Narzary(BPF),Urkhao Gwra Brahma(UPP),Dahit Chandra Brahma(AIUDF,Ranjay Brahma(Independent), Sujila Basumatary((Independent), Subadhra Narzary(Independent),Muknda Koch(Independent),Bodreswar Brahma(Independent),Aruna Brahma(Independent) and Nirmali Brahma(Independent).

In 28-Gossaigaon LAC, eight nominations out of 10 nominations have found valid which included Majendra Narzary(BPF),Somnath Narzary(UPP),Asim Hasda(Congress),Rubi Kashi Reddy(AIUDF),Wilson Hasda(Independent),Rajen Mushahary(Independent),Sajal Sinha(Independent),Mithun Nath(Independent).

While, six nomination papers received for 31-Sidli constituency were found valid and they are contesting the election.They are Chandan Brahma (BPF), Pankaj Islary (AIUDF), Rwngwra Narzary (UPP), Dilip Kumar Sarania (Independent), Phalmarston Brahma (Independent) and Tapan Chandra Rabha (Independent).

The last date for withdrawal of candidature is on March 26.

A body identified as Jadav Kisku,45, was recovered from Pakriguri village under Salakati police outpost this morning in Kokrajhar.
