AABYSF Udalguri district committee conference in Tangla

The 13th Bi-ennial conference of All Assam Bengali Youth Students Federation (AABYSF ) Udalguri district committee concluded at Tangla on Saturday.

In the first day’s programme, after the flag hoisting, swahid tarpan  by Sanjay Sen Vice Chairman Tangla Town Committee and Bappi Sarkar  president Udalguri district unit of the Bengali Youth Students Federation. In the evening, Rabindra Song,Rabindra Dance and Modern dance competition among kids were organized .

The second day’s programme began with a cultural rally which was inaugurated by Jagadish Sarkar EM BTC. The open session in the evening was inaugurated by Malay Kr. Lahiri senior advocate .HoD Biswajit Daimari Rajya Sabha MP attended as chief guest in the meeting. Speaking on the ocassion Daimari said that  now and then the Bengali Hindus have been harassed in the name of D-Voters. He also said that if BPF comes to power with an alliance with BJP in the assembly election they will look after the issue.Kamali Basumatari MLA Panery LAC,Nilotpal Chowdhury, along with members of district committe of various student bodies attended the meeting. In the evening a seminar on "Life of Netaji Subash Chandra Bose" was held which was attendes by Dr. Sushanta Kumar Mitra Former Professor Jadavpur University,Kolkatta as appointed speaker. A cultural programme held which was inagurated by Bonjar Daimari EM BTC where 'Payal Musical Band' from Kolkata enthralled the audience.

The silver jubilee session of Udalguri district ‘Bathou Mahasabha’ is going to be held at Harisinga from February 6 to 9, 2016. The Harisinga Bathaou Anchalik has taken the initiative to organise this big religious event of the Bodo culture. The venue of the event is fixed at Sonaisri Fwthar, Harisinga. The 12 hour Assam bandh called by Hiteswar Barman led AKRSU in demand of ST status to six communities of state namely the Koch Rajbongsi, Adivasi, Motok, Moran, Chutia and Tai Ahoms had paralysed life in the buisiness and educational town of Udalguri district Tangla. All shops and business establishments, educational and financial institutes remained closed during the bandh period. However few schools and Junior colleges with low attendence of students functioned till 12.Except some private vehicles no other vehicles were seen plying on the roads in the town. No untoward incident occurred in the town during the bandh period.
Akhil Hindi Bhasi Vikash Parishad, that works towards the interest of the Hindi speaking communities of four districts of BTC, had its general meeting on November 15 at Tangla where it had formed its regional committee. The meeting was presided over by Central General Secretary Santosh Shah. Students of Arunodoi Academy Tangla celebrated Children's day in a special way. The students under the guidance of Principal of the academy Napolean Daimari distributed food packets among the patients of Kalaguru Bishnu Prasad Rabha Hospital, Tangla.
