Motor vehicle association warns for non-cooperation in election

The owner and members of the Motor Vehicles in Kokrajhar has warned to take non-cooperation during ensuing Assam assembly election in protest against non-payment of 32 crores of hire charge bills and previous bills of vehicles, which are pending for a long time in the district.

Hundreds of  owner and members of the Motor Vehicles under the banner of Kokrajhar district Motor Vehicle Association Co-ordination Committee, staged a three-hours sit-in hunger strike beginning from 11 am to 2 pm at Children Park(near DC office) in Kokrajhar on Thursday demanded early payment of hire charge bills and previous election bills of vehicles.The association has been demanding release of  32 crores of pending bills for hire vehicle charge since 2011;of which the Deputy Commissioner,Kokrajhar  has pending amounting of 8.5 crores and SP office amounting of  23.5 crores in the district.

The association submitted a memorandum to the Commissioner & Secretary,Government of Assam through the Deputy Commissioner,Kokrajhar demanding early release of pending of bills of hire vehicle charges.

The memorandum stated that many vehicles under the member associations were hired under deputy commissioner,Kokrajhar kind disposal conducting CI operation duty and other various purposes and previous elections since 2011 years,but still today amounting of 32 crores of hire charge bills are lying pending to the DC office and SP office,Kokrajhar. It is regret to say that if payment of the outstanding hire charge bills are not made soon then the owners of the vehicles of member associations will not be able to provide their vehicles to the ensuing assembly elections,as they are suffering a lot of financial problems,the memorandum read.

MP Chakraborty,association leader expressed concern over the non-payments of pending hire charge of vehicle bills in the district.Due to non-payment of the outstanding hire charge bills of vehicles the owners of the vehicles are now unable to pay the wages of their drivers and handymen as they are facing a lot of financial crisis.

Chakraborty has warned to aloof from providing vehicles during Assam election if their pending bills of hire vehicles are not meet as soon possible.
