Kokrajhar seeks 65 company of security forces

Kokrajhar district administration has been seek 65 companies of security forces to conduct the upcoming Assam Assembly election in free and fair for three LACs in the district slated to be held on April 11 next during second phase of the election in Assam.

Speaking the Press Conference held at DC office conference hall today,Madhav Prasad Sarma,Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer told that the district administration was fully prepared to conduct the election in smooth manner in the district with fully strength of polling personnel and security forces.There are three LACs in the district which included No. 28-Gossaigaon, No. 29-Kokrajhar west and No. 30-Kokrajhar east. A total of 502603 voters in three LACs will cast their votes in 640 polling stations;with 173448 voters would exercise their votes in 218 polling stations in Gossaigaon LAC, 164798 voters will cast their votes in 209 polling stations in Kokrajhar west LAC and 164357 voters would exercised their votes in 213 polling stations in Kokrajhar east LAC respectively.

Sarma said that all kinds of electioneering preparations have met fully prepared after scheduled of the elections declared on Friday in the district along with rest of the state.Sufficient EVMs have so far reached in the district and polling personnel have been verified the EVM besides visiting polling stations to take stock of the polling stations. He said that district administration has been kept closed contact with neighbouring Bhutan country and inter-state border with West Begngal so that unwanted incident and situation could be avoided during the electioneering.He also told that an all party meeting was organised today to discuss about conducting of the election in peaceful manner.

‘The election would be conducted in free and fair and expected that the situation related would be completed in peaceful manner. Necessary preparation and arrangements have met in the district’, Sarma said.

A seven-years-old boy was succumbed to hospital following wall collapsed at Ghoskata Korida Madati sub-centre today in Kokrajhar district. According to family source, the boy identified as Bhim Brahma, son  of Bircharan Brahma of Korida Madati village was received serious injuries following wall collapsed along the newly constructed wall at Korida Madati sub-centre  this afternoon around 1 pm when he was playing with his friends. Security forces belonging to police and army apprehended a senior cadre of National Santhali Liberation Army (NSLA) in a joint operation launched today at Shiyalmari area under Serfanguri police station in Kokrajhar. BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary has claimed that the alliance BPF-BJP would defeat the ruling Congress party in the upcoimng election.
