Polluted drinking water in Nazira

Clean drinking water is supplied to the people by the government's Public Health & Engineering Department (PHE). Lately, the executive engineer’s office of Nazira PHE become a recreational area for some corrupt officials and contractors; misusing funds meant for common people through different schemes. Many different schemes are implemented here on papers only.

Last week people of Mothiachiga area found earthworms, crabs etc. in the water supplied for drinking purpose through Mechagarh water supply scheme. It reflects the poor functioning of the PHE department in Nazira.
