ANCC to blockade trains on Feb 22

The Adivasi National Convention Committee (ANCC), a conglomeration organization of the ceasefire militant outfits of the Adivasi community has strongly expressed resentment over the snail pace of the peace talk and delayed solutions of the community issues which included granting of Scheduled Tribe (ST) status to the Adivasis.

The committee has resolved to organize railway blockade at Kokrajhar station on February 22 to put pressure the government for granting ST status to Adivasis of Assam ahead assembly election and early solutions of issue and demands of the ceasefire militant outfits of the community.

A general meeting the committee was held today at Titaguri Sidhu Kanhu Bhawan with Boyal Hembrom, president of the committee in the chair.

Leaders from five member organizations of the ANCC which included Adivasi National Liberation Army (ANLA),Birsa Commando Force(BCF),Adivasi Cobra Military of Assam(ACMA),Santhali tiger Force(STF),Adivasi Peoples’ Army(APA) were present.
