The Assam Don Bosco University (ADBU) School of Technology Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) in collaboration with Tezpur University Department of Physics is organizing “amazingNANO-2016”, a week-long national workshop on Nanotechnology at ADBU Azara campus, 1-6 February.
Vice Chancellor of ADBU, Dr Stephen Mavely in his welcome address at the inaugural session, 1st February complimented the efforts of ECE department in promoting nano-technology study and research in northeast India.
The Convener of the workshop and Head of ECE department Dr Sunandan Baruah said in his introductory words, “the workshop will provide a unique platform to the young and enthusiastic researchers especially from the northeastern part of India, to get initiated into the latest technology expanding around the world through natural analogies, theoretical concepts, practical sessions and logical analysis.”
Known as the nano man of northeast India is specialized in Nanotechnology, Nanoelectronics and Embedded Systems dr Baruah emphasized the fact that through the workshop the participants will have covered the basics of nano-technology which is not in the curriculum of most colleges in northeast India and will further help them explore and move into nano applications.
The Director of Institute of Advance Study in Science and Technology Guwahati Prof N.C. Talukdar was the keynote speaker at the inaugural session which had over 50 participants.
Besides ADBU scholars and faculty members, there are 25 participants, both students and research scholars, from Northeastern Hill University Shillong and Gauhati University.
