Blankets distributed in Kokrajhar

A total of 12,179 blankets were distributed among beneficiaries of Kokrajhar east  at a programme held at Basic Training Centre in Kokrajhar today. 

Former minister and Kokrajhar east MLA Pramila Rani Brahma, Madhav Prasad Sarma, Kokrajhar Deputy Commissioner gave away the blankets, which were distributed under Chief Ministers' special scheme, 2015-16 from Handloom department. 

Brahma, in her speech said that the blanket have been distributed among needy beneficiaries of the constituency. 

"It will be benefitted for the poor and needy citizens among society. The govt has done good initiative to the welfare of the citizens, which have been distributing in the constituency", she said. 

Sarma said that the blankets which are reached through line department of Handloom in the district would be helped for needy peoples.

Suspected NDFB-S militants killed to milkmen in Kokrajhar district a day before the third and final phase of the Lok Sabha polls on Thursday.The incident took place at 11 in the morning at Bhogjhora area near Kazigaon where the motorcycle born militants shot dead Sahadut Ali and Mizanur Rahman from a close range on the road.The milkmen duo who were distributing milk died on the spot.
