Republic Day celebrated at Tangla

ADC Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta hoisted the national flag at Tangla HS School play ground in the presence of nearly three thousand people. 21 contingents of NCC, Scouts and Guides and students from  local schools took part in march past event. Speaking on the occasion Mahanta urged the people to remember the great souls of Mahatma Gandhi and freedom fighters who sacrificed their life for the sake of nation. He requested people to maintain peace in the society. He remarked that it is an age of Internet. It is an age of gaining and exploring knowledge. He said that though there are ITI institutes in Udalguri dustricy yet there is a step decline in fresh candidates joining these institutes. He further remarked that ASEB's APDCL has iniated a 33 KW sub-station at Tangla which would ensure continuous power supply to the town. He also said that state government would provide bus service to students coming from nearby places to the town. E-governance would also be iniated in Harisinga Revenue Circle.

Two persons namely- Ranjit Sarkar and Usha Rani Nath (BLO) were felicitated for their respective contribution in Collection of Electoral Datas. Besides students namely Atlanta Das, Anindeeta Deka, Jugmi Boro, Ramboraj Basumatari were felicitated for securing cent percent marks in Mathematics during last HSLC exams. Other distinguished guests of the event were Binoy Medhi, Manmohan Das, Orijit Singh Commandent SSB,Tangla etc; At 11.40 am fruits were distributed to the patient's of 30 beded Kala Guru Bishnu Prasad Rabha CHC, Tangla.

The silver jubilee session of Udalguri district ‘Bathou Mahasabha’ is going to be held at Harisinga from February 6 to 9, 2016. The Harisinga Bathaou Anchalik has taken the initiative to organise this big religious event of the Bodo culture. The venue of the event is fixed at Sonaisri Fwthar, Harisinga. Meanwhile volunteers have been put to work to colect population and education data of the Bodo people and with the collected data a souvenir magazine would be published where data's of population; education, occupation of people number of service holder, cultivates, buisiness man would be published.

All shops and business establishments, educational and financial institutes remained closed during the bandh period. However few schools and Junior colleges with low attendence of students functioned till 12.Except some private vehicles no other vehicles were seen plying on the roads in the town. No untoward incident occurred in the town during the bandh period.
Akhil Hindi Bhasi Vikash Parishad, that works towards the interest of the Hindi speaking communities of four districts of BTC, had its general meeting on November 15 at Tangla where it had formed its regional committee. Students of Arunodoi Academy Tangla celebrated Children's day in a special way. The students under the guidance of Principal of the academy Napolean Daimari distributed food packets among the patients of Kalaguru Bishnu Prasad Rabha Hospital, Tangla. Hospital authorities thanked the initiative of the students. Arunodoi Academy has been taking charitable works in the area for the last several years in the interest of society. The 15th foundation day celebration of Tangla college unit body of All BTC Bengali Youth Student's Federation was held on Friday at Bordoloi Bhawan, Tangla.
