Phalw Kherai Pwrbw celebrated

A five day Phalw Kherai Pwrbw(festival),organised by Meru Bathow Dhwrwmari Afad has began from Sunday at Mainaopuri Thanggabari in Chirang district.

Former BTC executive member Derhasat Basumatary graced as chief guest in the inaugural session.

Basumatary, in his speech lauded the intiative taking from the dhwrwmari afad to the field of religion and cultural uplift among Bodo and down trodden communities through the religious values in the region.He said that the human society need a healthy social development to make peoples’ welfare so that citizens can get unity and prosperous social situation.

Dhwnbasat Borgoyary,chief priest of the Meru Bathow said that the pwrbw has been organised to bring awareness on the cultural values of Bodos and religious susatainable among common publics. During the festival Kherai exhibition will also be organised,besides discussion on its hitsorical background of the Kherai festival.

An Aroj Khanti Bijab was also released on the day.

Suspected NDFB-S militants killed to milkmen in Kokrajhar district a day before the third and final phase of the Lok Sabha polls on Thursday.The incident took place at 11 in the morning at Bhogjhora area near Kazigaon where the motorcycle born militants shot dead Sahadut Ali and Mizanur Rahman from a close range on the road.The milkmen duo who were distributing milk died on the spot.
