Netaji's 119th birth anniversary celebrated at Tangla
Tangla celebrated the birth anniversary of freedom fighter Netaji Subash Chandra Bose with a day long programme on Saturday. In the morning National flag was hoisted by Malai Lahiri senior advocate Udalguri Bar Association and Ex-Chairman Tangla Town Committee. Professor Ashim Roy gave a brief speech on the ocassion. Other present on the ocassion were Mukta Deka Ex-Secretary Tangla Silpi Samaj besides few other buisiness man.Floral tributes were paid to the Statue of Netaji present at Station chowk.In the evening a cultural night programme was held were local bands,singers performed on patriotic and Bengali songs.Professor Ashim Roy was also sang on the ocassion.

The silver jubilee session of Udalguri district ‘Bathou Mahasabha’ is going to be held at Harisinga from February 6 to 9, 2016. The Harisinga Bathaou Anchalik has taken the initiative to organise this big religious event of the Bodo culture. The venue of the event is fixed at Sonaisri Fwthar, Harisinga. Meanwhile volunteers have been put to work to colect population and education data of the Bodo people and with the collected data a souvenir magazine would be published where data's of population; education, occupation of people number of service holder, cultivates, buisiness man would be published.
The 12 hour Assam bandh called by Hiteswar Barman led AKRSU in demand of ST status to six communities of state namely the Koch Rajbongsi, Adivasi, Motok, Moran, Chutia and Tai Ahoms had paralysed life in the buisiness and educational town of Udalguri district Tangla. All shops and business establishments, educational and financial institutes remained closed during the bandh period. However few schools and Junior colleges with low attendence of students functioned till 12.Except some private vehicles no other vehicles were seen plying on the roads in the town. No untoward incident occurred in the town during the bandh period.

Students of Arunodoi Academy Tangla celebrated Children's day in a special way.
