Supriya Gogoi to play in National Women's Kho Kho team
The Indian Women Kho Kho Team was announced in January 22, 2016 for the upcoming 12th South Asian Games, 2016 to be held in Guwahati and Shillong from February 5-16. It carried some great news for the people of Assam. Assam’s Supriya Gogoi got selected in this team. It’s the first time that an athlete from Assam has got selected in the national Kho Kho team. Supriya Gogoi is from Tenghakhat of Dibrugarh district in Assam.
Speaking about this, Rajib Prakash Baruah, President, Assam Kho Kho Association and also Vice President, Kho Kho Federation of India, said, “It’s a great news for the people of Assam. We are very proud. It will certainly motivate the young players of Assam.”
The 18-member Indian Women Kho Kho Team will be led by Sarika Kale of Maharashtra.
