BPF rally at Kalaigaon

At a time when the election scenario is up and every other political parties are playing blame game. BTC Chief Hagrama Mahilari along with other top BPF leaders attended a mammoth election rally organised at Ranthali Bagisa Stadium,Kalaigaon on January 22 .More than fifteen thousand people attended the rally in support of BPF candidate Maheswar Baro.The rally had been one of the biggest election rally in the district.On the occasion Hagrama Mahilari said that BPF would work according to people's need and desire.Criticising BJP,he said their party doesn't make false promises. He said that many party could very much make great promises during election time,just to be forgotten later.He also did not spare its ally Congress,saying that congress thought only for a few upper Assam districts in the past.According to him BPF believed equality and justice to all the districts of Assam.He further said that the success of congress party was possible only for the support of BPF. On the issue of ST status to six ethnic groups of Assam,Hagrama said that he is pretty sure that BJP goveenment at the centre would give the ST status to the communities.

Hagrama promised that his party would open up 50-100 SHG in the non- BTC areas. He remarked that Congress has betrayed the people and so excluding 16 Assembly in BTC they have lended their full support to BJP. Coming to the 1000 crore package Hagrama remarked that though PM Modi in his recent visit to Kokrajhar didn't declare it. In the coming budget the 1000 crore package would find its place. He further declared that from the package community halls in every townships,auditoriums in Kalaigaon and Tangla College,Railway overbridge s at Tangla,Goreswar and Basugaon this year,drainage system in Kalaigaon town, bridge over Nonai river at Tia Phukuri, bridge over Kalpani river at Jhargaon,bridge at Balipara near Tangla, Hostel for the students of Adivasi community at Udalguri. He said that Modi has promised to re-instill Rupsi airport bordering Kokrajhar and Dhubri which was last functioning during World War 2.Modi has also promised to make CIT Kokrajhar a Deem University.

He also said Bodos living in Karbi Anglong and Dima-Hasao would get ST statys so would Karbis residing across the state would get ST status. Biswajit Daimari,BPF MP (Rajya Sabha) also addressed the rally.Thanking the mammoth crowd, he declared that 65 Kalaigaon LAC would be occupied by BPF. Daimari remarked that without BPF's help no political party can form government.He also said that in electronic media critics very often hits Hagrama Mahillary. He further remarked that APCC President Anjan Dutta and CM Tarun Gogoi are not in good terms.He also said that the term Non-Bodo very often used is baseless. Such terms creates division among people.He said that BTC is part if Assam and so as Assamese the first official language in BTC offices.He also said that there are Muslim teachers teaching Bodo language in schools of Kojrajhar.The rally was also addressed by Maheswar Baro,BPF candidate of 65 Kalaigaon LAC.Several top BPF leaders namely- Kamali Basumatari MLA Panery LAC,Lwmsraoa Daimari,EM,BTC;Bonjar Daimari EM BTC; and Jagadish Sarkar EM,BTC,Nerson Boro Deputy Speaker BTC attended the rally.

The silver jubilee session of Udalguri district ‘Bathou Mahasabha’ is going to be held at Harisinga from February 6 to 9, 2016. The Harisinga Bathaou Anchalik has taken the initiative to organise this big religious event of the Bodo culture. The venue of the event is fixed at Sonaisri Fwthar, Harisinga. Students of Arunodoi Academy Tangla celebrated Children's day in a special way.
