BJP sees hardly hopes in Assam

Despite heavy concentration on Assam assembly polls central BJP leaders in New Delhi are believed to have eschewed the hope of a good performance in the upcoming assembly polls. Senior BJP leaders told Assam Times that the top poll managers are learnt to have agreed that the current political scenario does not suggest a huge poll success for BJP forcing the ruling party at the Centre to forge the poll alliance with BPF.

"Poll deal with BPF does not make any sense as the Boro regional party won't allow any BJP candidate to contest inside the BTAD. What they would do to help BJP outside BTAD?," said a senior BJP leader in New Delhi.

Another top leaders said,"BJP would be able to take at least 15 MLAs on board from BPF  if the party gets at least 40 seats. But BJP poll managers are unsure of 40 seats in view of the current scenario.

" The party is also aware of simmering resentment after Narendra Modi's visit who failed to raise a fresh lease of hope for the BTAD people. "Equally the party poll strategists are worried over the lack of support in the grass root level," said the sources.
