Gogoi poses for selfie with Tikhor

While the Guwahatians bathes in festive fervour gearing-up for this event Metropolis- Urban Winter Festival, which kick started on January 8, 2016 at Nehru Park in Guwahati and was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, Tikhor, the mascot for the 12th edition of prestigious South Asian Games takes the gracious opportunity to welcome the Chief Minister during this popular event. He also led the way to various stalls setup in the venue which the CM visited before heading to the stage for the lamp lighting ceremony.

Addressing the august gathering, Gogoi said, “I want the youths of the state to grow up and build up themselves in the area of sports, arts, culture, music, food processing etc. So that they get high opportunities in various fields. Time has been changing and we should change ourselves with time. Meanwhile, speaking about the 12th edition of prestigious South Asian Games, he also welcomed the cute and an adorable one-horned rhino, Tikhor, to the stage and introduced him to the crowd. A group selfie of Tikhor with the CM and organizers of Metropolis was another add on to the festive zeal.

Building up on the upbeat spirit of the 12th South Asian Games to be held in Guwahati and Shillong from February 5th to February 16th have seen Tikhor, the mascot for the Games, creating vibes across the city and the rave escalated further during this 4th Metropolis.
