Bodo sabha slas govt

The Bodo Sahitya Sabha (BSS) slammed  the Chief  Minister Tarun Gogoi led Congress government at Dispur for not initiating any step to solve problem and issues of Bodo medium related demands raised from sabha during its third consecutive term in the government.

Kamala  Kanta Mushahary, general secretary  of the sabha, while attending as chief guest to address the open session of the 41st annual convention of the Kokrajhar district of the sabha today said that the Congress government in the state has been showing step motherly attitude to the Bodo medium education  that is why Bodo medium issue and problems are still remained far from getting gained and welfare in its status.The sabha has been placed demand and issues to the government since 2001 year demanding solutions of various problems and issues which included creation of separate directorate for Bodo medium,appointment of teachers in Bodo medium schools, provincialisation of Bodo medium schools,yet no any ways to solve the demand and issues have been observed so far, Mushahary said.

'The state government has been tactically delayed to solve the demand and issues of the Bodo medium for negligence attitudes', Mushahary alleged. 

The annual convention of the district sabha and 5th annual convention of Jharbari primary Bodo sahitya sabah was concluded at Jharbari ground in Kokrajhar on Saturday. 

Sahitya Academy awardee and noted writer Brajendra Kumar Brahma, Gopinath Borgoyary, writer, Surath Narzary, writer among others were present on the open meeting.

Shock and anger in Kokrajhar

Utter shock and anger seem to have gripped Kokrajhar a day after three members of a family were killed in the name of witch hunting.The incident took place at Borjhora village in  Monglajhora area under Bogribari police station  where the trio remained clueless.Police have so far arrested 13 persons in this connection after two bodies were exhumed from a jungle.  The entire incident came to light after the victim's youngest son, who is a constable with 7th AP Bn got to the incident . 3 missing in Kokrajhar

Three people are believed to have been killed in the name of witch-hunting in Kokrajhar.The incident took place on Thursday in Mongoljhar where the three people including a woman have been remaining untraced for the last 48 hours.Acting on the complaints, police have picked up 11 villagers on Saturday morning. Woman commits suicide

A woman committed suicide by lying before a moving train in Kokrajhar on Thursday.Identified as Jaya Saki, the 40 year old woman committed suicide on the rail track near the Gauranga bridge in the afternoon.  She is believed to have committed suicide because of domestic affairs hours after her girl eloped with a youth.
