Surrendered ULFA men stage demo in Delhi
The surrendered ULFA activists staged demonstration in New Delhi on Tuesday demanding inner line permit in the state apart from raising a few other issues.
At 10 in the morning, more than 50 surrendered ULFA activists thronged the Jantar Mantar in the capital and started the dharma. "We want ILP in the state. Apart from this we do demand rehabilitation of our activists at an earlier date," said a protestor.
Another protestor said, " we demand ST status for the entire state which is only the way to help Assam progress." Those who joined the national mainstream further asked the Centre to detect and deport the Bangladeshi immigrants from the state.

The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today has approved the ‘Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana’ - a path breaking scheme for farmers’ welfare. Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi is all prepared to stage dharna in front of Parliament on Wednesday alleging non receipt of central funds to the state. Party MPs from both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha are also joining Gogoi at 11 in the morning. Senior Congress leaders told Assam Times that along with the Ex-Assam MPs, they want party president Sonia Gandhi to join the dharna. Gogoi announced the dharna plan a couple of days back giving a deadline. As assembly polls are round the corner days are not far for six ethnic communities in Assam to get ST status.
